It’s been a while since I’ve written a proper post so I’d thought it was time to freshen up my blog a bit and tell you about some of my recent experiences of the most exciting days of my ’blogger life’ so far!
Some of you may remember that I won the Mac Cosmetics #fixplusambassadorhungary contest back in May which to be honest shocked me and made me the happiest and proudest girl alive! We have worked really hard on the #fixplusambassadorhungary project as
it was a great opportunity for people to get to know me and also to prove people that numbers (such as followers, likes and comments) aren’t the main thing that matters but the content you create and the amount of effort you put into it.
The prize involved a trip to Milan Fashion Week with Mac Cosmetics where I was invited to join the backstage of some amazing shows to see how models get prepared for their catwalk! You can imagine how crazy it was! I’ve always dreamed of joining fashion shows in any kind but not in my wildest dreams have I thought that I will eventually get the opportunity to see some of the greatest models in real life, nor to sit in the front row!
I flew to Milan on Thursday (20 September) and flew back on Saturday night (obviously my flight was delayed) so it was a really short trip, but surely one of the most exciting one! The Mac Cosmetics team booked us rooms at the lovely Hotel Manin which I can only recommend to you as it is very central and super cute and cosy. Besides Bea and Kata, (the nicest, kindest and most caring people from Mac Cosmetics Hungary), my friend, Vanessa also joined us who has helped me taking pictures and kept me entertained during my stay in Milan. As she was more familiar with the city, we trusted her and she never disappointed us, she took us to the cutest restaurants such as: Il Salumaio di Montenapoleone (we saw Carine Roitfeld passing by here), Giacomo Bistrot (Rita Ora was sitting on our left while Sabrina Carpenter was sitting on our right and Tiffany Hsu, Fashion Buying Director of Mytheresa.com was waiting to get a table too) .
This was my very first Fashion Week (and hopefully not my last one) and although it contained a lot of rushing, it was worth every minute! We only visited 3 shows all-together as the schedule was really tight and the traffic was terrible in Milan, so getting from one point to another was fairly impossible. We had to miss 3 shows, 1: because we arrived to Milan later than we’ve expected, 2: because it crossed the schedule of another show, 3: because we wouldn’t have reached our flights otherwise. It’s a shame but sadly you always have to calculate with it when visiting Fashion weeks.
We were able to see how crazy backstage can get: models are running from one point to another, make up artists and hair stylists are working faster than you can imagine and the schedule never really stays true to it’s ’meant to be’ time. After the shows you see all the celebrities, bloggers and journalists coming out from the venues and (street style) photographers are running after them like crazy to get the best shot. Everyone I met was really nice and friendly. Models are getting on motorbikes as thats the easiest and fastest way for them to get to their next show. Long story short, it’s a crazy world!
In this blog post you’ll see the backstage and catwalk pictures I’ve taken from Antonio Marras and Marco de Vinzenczo. The key make up artist at Antonio Marras was: Tom Pecheux. I fell in love with the orange make up look and I will try to recreate that look in a more simple way soon! The show was breathtakingly beautiful and involved quite a lot of oversized pieces which you may by now know that I LOVE! I loved the way the designer mixed all the patterns. The designs were really outstanding, I would consider them anything but ordinary. Really nice and interesting cuts, amazing materials and funky prints. For me the designs were the perfect mix of edgy and chic, and more importantly, very wearable!
The key make up artist at Marco de Vinczenzo was: Terry Barber and I was lucky enough to stand next to him while he was giving an interview about the looks. He wanted to create something very simple but still eye-catching so he put the emphasis on the eyes and created a sharp black cat eye look while keeping the rest of the face very natural. Models were super cute, every time they saw my camera, they struck a pose and were all smiley and started to talk to me. I can not even imagine how tired they all must have been and still, they managed to stay calm and very friendly (sadly I do not know the models' name but if you recognize any of them, please send me their names so I can tag them!).
I am a huge fan of Marco de Vinczenzo shoes thus I was really looking forward to see his show. Before the show he was giving interviews about the collection at the backstage, however I do not speak Italian so I won't be able to state his words to you but I can tell you one thing: he surely aimed to create feminine and sexy pieces. The collection involved a lot of sequin, lace and see through pieces. The oversized shirt dresses, jackets, coats, sweaters and flowy suit pants were clearly my favorites! Sadly, it was very difficult to take pictures at the show because of the lighting but luckily I've found all the looks from the show on Vouge Italia, so if you'd like to check out the whole collection, just click HERE.
I got this amazing opportunity to join Milan Fashion Week but as I wouldn’t be where I am without YOU supporting me, I wanted you to get a taste of what Milan Fashion Week was like though my pictures. So, I decided to create 3 posts all-together as the amount of pictures I’ve taken are over 3000!
1: from first day, 2: second day and 3: from all of my MFW looks.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank the Mac Cosmetics Hungary team for believing in me and choosing me as their ambassador! I've never really been lucky with winning anything before but you know how the saying goes: sooner or later life will eventually reward you! Well, I am beyond happy that my luck only hit me at this stage of my life. I couldn’t wish for a better 'surprise' and opportunity. I’ve been using Mac Cosmetics ever since I’ve started using make up and I will have an even tighter bond with the brand from now on. They gave me memories and experiences I’ll never forget and I can not express my love towards them in words! Thank you and thank you 100x!
I hope you’ll enjoy this and also my following posts and please do not hesitate to ask me any questions, I am happy to answer them all!
